Wine and flavours
The Marche Region, both for its geography and its climate, is well suitable for wine-growing. Indeed, the region boasts as many
as 22 DOC labels (guarantee of origin).
Red, white and rosé wine are well represented.
The layout of the land and the different cultures that met in this wonderful territory, everything contributes to the excellent quality of local wine.
The Imperial Sport Hotel wine list boasts over 100 selections, focusing on those produced in the Marche, in order to find the perfect match between wine and your meat or fish course, or cheese plate. To complete the meal don't miss the opportunity to taste the local specialty, the "vino e visciole" (sour cherry wine), the perfect match for your dessert
The Marche region is also known for its gastronomic excellence, just to mention a few: brodetto di pesce (fish stew), passatelli (a homemade pasta made of breadcrumbs, eggs, grated Parmesan cheese) in fish or meat broth, or formaggio di fossa ("pit cheese", matured underground, which gives a distinctive flavour and taste), the extra virgin oil from Cartoceto, protected under the EU's PDO scheme and above all: his Majesty the black and white truffle from Acqualagna.
